To anyone who has not picked up on this yet, I sadly have to bring to you the bad news that Nelson Mattison, better known here as Nuke Storm, has passed away this past weekend.
It's about exactly three years ago that Nelson messaged me on Youtube, having seen a couple of my stick wrestling videos. I read that message where he asked me to join SWF and smiled all through. Never had heard so many kind words in one type. That basically tells everything about the guy behind the screen. He always held his own but was so warm and kind to everyone - never meant any harm.
And just a week ago, I talked to you. As nice as always. You said you'll hit me up soon with some of your newest work, well, that obviously never happened. These are the little things a selfish human always wonders during these kind of times - if I had said something differently, if the conversation had lasted a bit longer, would he still be here with us? We may never know.
It's just crazy that a week from that day, I'm here speaking about Nelson in past-sense. Yesterday, I had the unfortunate honor of writing Nelson's name on my wrist-tape and walking out to the ring, and wrestled embracing the memory of Nelson who once so much loved the sport that brought us all here.
You know, there was a time on SWF that Nuke said there's no way he'll still be doing Pivot when he's 40. He never got the chance and that is the worst thing about this. Nelson was only 18 years old.
As sad as all this is - and you religious or not - Nelson may now rest in peace. And who knows, his soul is probably in Heaven doing artworks or recording a feat for Tupac's newest album up there - both things Nelson was very talented at.
We all lost a friend, and that leaves us wondering why it had to be this incredibly talented and creative young man that passed way too early. Thank you for the memories, man.

I usually consider myself good with words. But for a situation such as this, I have very few.
I hadn't spoke to Nelson in a long time, since I stopped being active here, really. But, it doesn't change the fact that he put a lot of time and effort into something that gave me a lot of fun times, which I will always be thankful to him for.
For someone so young, and who we all knew as a friend, to pass away like this is nothing short of tragic, and all I can do now is say rest in peace, Nelson, and thank you for all the memories here.

Nelson was a great man, and I'm incredibly heartbroken to hear of his passing. Nelson was unlike anyone I had really ever known, he was a very opinionated individual, and was always incredibly passionate about the things he loved and cared for. We had many personal conversations, and many memories were shared between the two of us; in a sense, he was one of the closest friends I have ever had, even to this day. I remember you and I joked around, you'd joke and talk about my black 'stepdad,' about you coming to live in the States, hanging around my sofa and wanting to loaf around. I feel like the two of us had a great understanding of one another, and that we were always similar people; yet there remained enough differentiation to still be interested in the lives of the other. Just a week ago I was on here reminiscing of the chats we had, how immature and blinded we were. But I know that those memories of you, and the site, are ones that even through death cannot deter, and will never fade away. Nelson, you were a great friend, a passionate individual, and I am proud to have experienced and worked along with something you loved. I will never forget you, Nelson, and I hope that somehow, in someway, we can meet again. Rest in peace.

It's weird thinking about it, and still hard to believe this happened. It feels like he's still with us somehow. I just remember all the fun conversations we used to have on here. Even though I guess I wasn't on here much, I was fortunate enough to meet him. I haven't talked to him in a while, and I know we weren't on the best of terms when we last spoke, but I don't understand why he died so young. He really did put a lot of time and passion in everything he did. Real sad to see him go. You never really expect anything like this to happen, so I guess you just gotta make good use of time while you still have it, before it's too late. But all I know is he's in a better place now, maybe even chilling with his new homie Tupac. So RIP Nelson, hopefully I'll get to see you again.

I'm probably one of the last people for this to bought to attention . Honestly I can't believe it, such talent and hard work he put out and the enjoyment alongside passion he allowed us to gain from this place. As well as outside seemed a solid guy even though after this place was finished I never really got to talk to him, the only the contact being the occasional like on instagram. This really hurt's my heart to see someone who has contributed so much to us as a whole and as a friend go. It saddens me but hopefully your in a better place. R.I.P Nelson

Absolutely stunned and heartbroken to read this. Unlike a lot of you here, I didn't have a long history with Nuke, but he was a big part of me getting into pivot and joining this site to begin with. I didn't talk to him often, and not for a long while, but I still considered him a friend. May he rest easy.

Honestly I have to say this and I don't mean any disrespect towards nuke(RIP) or anyone but a lot of you sound so forced into giving any sympathy towards his death, a lot of you did know the guy on forums and maybe had long chats online, but you had no idea how he was in real life. You only knew the man online, for all I know he could have just been cool with you guys just so he could get you to post on his website but whatever hes gone now and hope hes in a better place now I guess.
